The Gavito Tango Festival in Los Angeles

Los Angeles • Biltmore Hotel • October 1–4, 2026

Our goal is to surround you with beauty, connection, and unforgettable moments — to entertain you, inspire you, and send you home feeling truly fulfilled. For four days, let this festival be your escape: a place to disconnect from the outside world, rest your mind, open your heart, and lift your spirit. This is the heart of the Gavito Tango Festival.

The Festival is a cultural celebration that brings dancers, maestros, musicians, and tango lovers from around the world into the historic Biltmore Hotel, one of Los Angeles’ most iconic and elegant landmarks.

A Venue Filled With History & Soul

Located in the heart of downtown, the Biltmore Hotel is a masterpiece of Beaux-Arts and Renaissance Revival architecture. Its grand Crystal Ballroom — with frescoed ceilings, marble columns, and Austrian-crystal chandeliers — once hosted early Academy Award ceremonies and Hollywood’s Golden Age elite.

Today, those same historic halls become the home of our milongas, workshops, and performances.
It’s a setting that makes tango feel timeless, romantic, and truly cinematic.

The Gavito Experience

Gavito Tango Festival is designed to touch the dancer’s heart — whether you’re a beginner, an experienced milonguero, or traveling from across the world or professional. Over four unforgettable days, you’ll experience:

  • Progressive workshops with world-class maestros

  • Traditional and alternative milongas that go deep into the night

  • Powerful performances and world-class entertainment

  • A warm, welcoming community where dancers of all levels feel at home

International Community, Global Energy

Each year, dancers travel from across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America to live the Gavito experience. It’s not just the dancing — it’s the people. The embraces. The late-night conversations. The friendships and memories that stay long after the music ends.

Gavito is where cultures meet, where community grows, and where tango becomes something deeper than steps — it becomes connection.

Created With Purpose, Passion & Elegance

Gavito Tango Festival is produced and organized by
Dennis Cante and Tanya Spektor

Two fashionable women walking confidently in an urban setting.

All four days during the daytime, maestros will be teaching a series of progressive workshops, let’s take advantage and learn from some of the BEST in the World! At night we will be graced with inspirational and exquisite traditional, neotango and alternative music, as well as amazing performances.

Our love and passion for tango also translates into embracing and welcoming different tango genres, and we are very pleased to include a second ballroom dedicated to NeotangoLA Marathon, as a part of the Gavito Tango Festival. We will feature 3 days of afternoon and evening alternative music milongas, Friday through Sunday. The  NeotangoLA will take place in the same venue but in a separate ballroom, featuring an excellent lineup of DJs, including Michael McCarrell and Alison Bradley of Los Angeles, and others.

We will be dancing on Jim Baker’s delightfully smooth, custom tango dance floor so enjoyed by dancers at the Tucson and San Diego Tango Festivals.

And of course, if you are interested in renewing your tango wardrobe, and adding more shoes to your collection, we will have the best vendors in the house:

Let’s make this magic happen!

We can’t wait to see you in Los Angeles,
